I’ve had this ongoing problem with my display being unbelievably slow. Tonight was the absolute final straw. I have been getting into photo editing again which means I will be using Photoshop in Linux. I also always have tvtime(tv tuner application) running for my CNN news. My display has lagged so bad with everything being drawn to the screen. I sat down tonight to do some work and the lag it took me to display the gnome-menu pissed me off so much I looked at the clock and it read 9:36. Best Buy is open till ten I thought. Grabbed the keys and off I went. I arrived not knowing what I wanted but all I knew was I needed something better than the peice of shit Via Unichrome KM400 chipset i’ve been using. Finding something wasn’t very hard. What was hard was trying to get the sales guys to understand there are people out there who don’t play video games and don’t need a high end card. I bought the second to cheapest one there. It fits me perfect. I got a PNY GeForce 6600. The difference is amazing…how sweet it is.

Now, a flat panel? Nah..in a year or so when the insane prices drop..I can deal with my LCD.
