I have been experimenting with HDR images. HDR stands for High Dynamic Range and is a method of combining three different exposures of the same photo. It really brings out detail in otherwise washed out or very dark areas of a photo. I think HDR imaging is probably going to be the future, especially when HDR displays become more common.

One of my favorite photographers, Dave Hill, has what I think are some unbelievable HDR photos. He has always claimed his photos are not HDR but I don’t know if I believe that. Assuming his photos are HDR, I think he does some of the best work of this nature today.

Earlier this week I was in Green Bay and Zach and I spent some time up at our grandparents farm. It’s set to be destroyed in the next year or two and i’ve always been wanting to get out there to get some photos before it’s too late. I finally had the time. I hope to make another trip out before it’s ousted to make room for yet another set of sub-divisions. Do we really need more of these?

Shakopee Bridge
I was in Shakopee, MN this afternoon and I stopped to have lunch under a bridge. The bridge apparently has been closed to vehicle traffic for a couple years now. I see the bridge was actually still open to pedestrians and is now a park. I would think a bridge in this kind of shape and residing in the Minneapolis metro area would be closed by now - considering all that happened on the 35W bridge.

Brooklyn Park Lightning

Driving through Brooklyn Park tonight the skies were very active. I stopped to snap this shot of the incredible lightning.

Favre Walking InEvery major news outlet now is reporting that Brett Favre has asked for his release from the Green Bay Packers. Everyone also has their own opinion on this. I think it’s real simple. If he wants to come back he comes back. It’s an incredibly tough decision for everyone involved to deal with. When Brett retired the Packers had to move on. They spent the offseason finally getting Aaron Rodgers ready to play. Further, if Brett does come back it complicates things with Aaron Rodgers and who becomes the future of the Packers. Aaron is certainly going to want a contract going into next year. Being a #1 draft pick and not having any significant playing time going into their second contract is a bummer for him.

I don’t see any possible way the Green Bay Packers don’t let Brett come back. This is a guy who transformed almost every aspect of the city of Green Bay. Gave this city a Super Bowl victory and a new stadium. Not to mention, he enjoyed playing in the small city no other player wants to play in.
