Every major news outlet now is reporting that Brett Favre has asked for his release from the Green Bay Packers. Everyone also has their own opinion on this. I think it’s real simple. If he wants to come back he comes back. It’s an incredibly tough decision for everyone involved to deal with. When Brett retired the Packers had to move on. They spent the offseason finally getting Aaron Rodgers ready to play. Further, if Brett does come back it complicates things with Aaron Rodgers and who becomes the future of the Packers. Aaron is certainly going to want a contract going into next year. Being a #1 draft pick and not having any significant playing time going into their second contract is a bummer for him.
I don’t see any possible way the Green Bay Packers don’t let Brett come back. This is a guy who transformed almost every aspect of the city of Green Bay. Gave this city a Super Bowl victory and a new stadium. Not to mention, he enjoyed playing in the small city no other player wants to play in.

I assume after recent media coverage your opinion has changed. I also thought at first, “great!’, but in light of recent coverage, my opinion has changed. It appears that Favre hates green bay. I hope that he is forced into staying retired. Who does Brett think he is??? Holding us hostage for several springs waiting for a decision, then making one and then renhigging(sp) and expecting us to jump for him…….we shall see.

I don’t know what to think anymore. I think he likes Green Bay and just feels betrayed that they won’t let him back. I guess we’ll see if he shows up over the weekend at camp or not…trade rumors are swirling though..jets, bucs?
