The city of Green Bay is clearly best known for being the home of the Green Bay Packers, 12-time NFL league champions. While the city is known to be the smallest in the NFL, most do not realize how small it really is. With a 2000 census population of 102,313 and a 2006 census estimate of 100,353 it is loosing population. Although not at an alarming rate, it is no doubt showing around town. A recent visit back I couldn’t help but notice the signs of times changing. A drive down the once thriving Main St. shows building after building of vacancy. The downtown area has long been non-existent as well with eye-sore of the abandoned Port Plaza Mall(Washington Commons) with the anchor store Younkers recently demolished.

Take a look at my recent visit.
