The end of a franchise.
This game was unreal. That we cant come to play on such a huge night in our own stadium. I just cant get over that. The vikings have taken over this division. They beat us twice. The bears play them 2 times yet and can at least control bringing themselves 2 games closer.
This may be the beginning of the end of this franchise. We lost a quality product and there is no getting lucky again like we did with Reggie. This team unloaded everything they had getting greedy with Rodgers. Favre was simply let go so Arod would not leave Green Bay and because TTs career hinged on the success of Arod. Favre was pushed out to make sure this franchise did not fall into a slump for years for drafting a QB too early. This team is in complete shambles. Its becoming an embarrassment..I mean shit, we have 3 guys jumping into each other falling down, QBs being sacked 30 times in the first 8 games with an o-line looking so stupid I wouldn’t even line up if i were them, special teams that is a joke – missed field goals, terrible return defense with fucking Ahman Green returning balls..a man that cant run or hold onto a football. You have about 75% of the city not wanting the MC or TT show to continue. Its exposing the packers as a team that was always considered a team to beat and a classy top tier team and now are being looked at as a team like the lions, redskins or raiders. I don’t think we can get over this one. There wont be another thing that can bring us back..the chance of anything as huge as Reggie coming in free agency to save this team again is not good.

We’ll start seeing people in the stands wearing bags on their heads like in Detroit. This city doesn’t do shit like that – the city and the team were always best friends. Snowballs will be thrown out like in Cleveland, planes being flown with notes trailing behind, people wearing even more fire Ted Thompson shirts than they do now. Embarrassing us all.
Now that i think about it, TT should be fired mid season. If not who knows how much damage this fiasco is going to do.
Its going to be many many years before this team regains its legacy, If ever. We’ll probably have to just shut the thing down because we won’t be able to keep up with revenue deals and will eventually need a new stadium. We wont get a public tax vote again..and if we did it wouldn’t pass. It only passed by 1% point last time riding the wave of one of the best NFL teams in history destroying every opponent.
I hope you have tickets because you wont be seeing them here much longer..you know, with the blackouts coming.
We had some rough times in past 18 years. But we had a team with the entire community rallying behind because of the class and excitement brought here when Reggie appeared on SI in shoulder pads announcing his decision – it shook up the NFL. Regardless to whether Brett retired this year or in 2028 had this team been led by #4 until that point the class, respect and envy the entire world had for it wouldn’t be gone already. The most storied franchise in sports did what shouldn’t have been possible. Splitting the city that lives and breathes green and gold into parts. And some of those same people now proudly support the purple.
This franchise is a joke. We should get some of those people who braved the extreme cold to shovel for 6 bucks and hour, just to get the chance to see the legendary field and become history, to help pick the sod up for one last sod selling sale before motocross and snowmobile circuits set up shop at their new home.
I am a huge Aaron Rodgers fan. Favre wasn’t the only one we let go. This entire franchise was dismantled on the extremely bad odds that TT could ride the belief that the packers don’t do anything wrong. Bad odds and the belief is now gone. Its okay, ive come to realize its not my fault. This team is kind of like those baseball teams that win it all and then fail to win 20 games the next year. Building a team through the draft did not work and never did. Its not the formula we had when we went to back to back Super Bowls and it wont be the formula for any team ever. I don’t know we have more than a handful of players right now who won’t be going back to finish their final years of their degree after all is said and done here. Good luck in the real estate market guys.
Had Favre stayed and finished his career here and we ended up terrible after he left it would be okay. Everyone would understand. We wouldn’t have been tarnished like this. We would still be the town that had it all. With everyone rooting for us instead of trying to win radio contests for free PatMcCurdy tickets for the person with biggest bag on their head who gets on tv on gameday. People would understand and players would still want to come here. Instead, they would rather be playing for Al Davis in Oakland.

A little over the top, but enjoyable read no less. Team is a joke, that’s for sure.

Fortunately, it can be fixed by getting rid of TT and MM and getting the right people in there. The question is, who do we gamble our hopes on next?

Don’t you think you’re over-reacting? Just because The Pack hasn’t won a Super Bowl in a few years, it doesn’t mean they won’t again. And let’s face it, Brett Favre is just as capable of losing games as he is of winning them.

Packers need to hire Mike Shanahan.
